Pearl treasures and organic, oceanic, rocky designs
Welcome to Sara Roegiers Jewellery
Bio
After studying modern history and globetrotting, living in Paris, New York, and Stockholm, among other places, I settled in Antwerp with our family of four. I worked in academia and the private sector, but finally chose to be a goldsmith full time.
Training & Recognition
In 2025 I graduated as a goldsmith and jeweller, after four years of dedicated study and hands-on practice. My final exam project — a heavy silver chain with an American hook clasp, a pearl pendant, and a pearl bracelet — felt like a proper summary of everything I'd learned and everything I love to make. I have a goldsmith's workshop at home in Antwerp, where every piece is made.

Name
The space where water meets rock, waves crashing, foaming, turning, rocks crumbling, lava flowing, ... This kind of movement and texture permeates my design.
My pieces are quite heavy and tactile. My preferred gemstone, the baroque pearls, is also the more sensual option, because they seem to invite touch (more than sparkly, cut stones).
I started making jewellery under the name "Moon Loves Pearl". The moon and a pearl exist in vastly separate dimensions, in completely different concepts of time and space.
The moon is cold, distant, an admired celestial body as old as planet Earth. While the pearl grows in a soft, sheltered space, waiting to be discovered and treasured -or to stay hidden.
Still, they share so many qualities and symbolic significance. It’s as if they are reflections of each other, like a child and its ancestors.
I love to embed symbols and myths in my work. I like to think of my creations as amulets, for good luck, courage, beauty, wisdom, perseverance ...
Style
A mix of rough natural shapes and gloriously baroque pearls, Sara Roegiers stands for fine silver and gold jewellery full of character. Wild and classy, trippy and “brut”.
Every piece is handmade in Antwerp, Belgium. I make one-offs, or tiny batches of similar creations.
I use metal smithing, freehand casting in sand or water, and lost wax techniques.
I studied as goldsmith, and added a course in wax techniques, and I'm working on perfecting my craft as a gemstone setter. Baroque pearls are my favourite stones, but I'm looking forward to adding coloured stones to my designs.
With a commitment to sustainability, all pieces are locally made from responsibly sourced 925 Sterling Silver, with the possibility to have some gilded or recreated in solid recycled gold. I also use recycled brass and bronze.
I don’t believe in making on-trend must-haves, or changing collections every season. All parts of my work can be mixed and matched.
If you send me a piece of sterling silver jewelry, you get a nice discount on your next purchase. Get in touch :-) I love to recycle! This is the advantage of working with pure source materials, precious metals can be melted down to start over ad infinitum.
When I was creating my personal style, ecological sustainability was part of every step.
I work a lot with used materials, repurposing pre-loved jewellery and melting scraps. Every piece has some post-consumer recycled metal or stone in it. I don’t purchase or use “new” mined gold.
My packaging is from Westpack’s eco line. Even the foam inside jewelry boxes is a by-product from wood. I will never use single-use plastics for packaging.
Pearls don’t grow in Belgium, but I use natural cultured freshwater pearls, not the kind that takes hundreds of oysters to be discarded in order to find one perfect specimen.
The freshwater pearls for the Sara Roegiers Jewelry are all cultivated in China. Pearl mussels need a stable, clean environment, and harvesting is done manually.
I only send a couple of mails per year, promised
